IPTI MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA
Membership of IPTI is open to all who are qualified to engage in the professional practice of Health, Fitness, Beauty Therapy, Alternative and Complementary Therapies, Hairdressing and Nail Technician. Applicants need to be able to demonstrate that their qualifications comply with national or state regulations to practice and/or that they posess qualifications awarded by independent examination boards whose training is approved by IPTI.
Examples of organisations whose qualifications are acceptable are: ITEC, IHBC, VTCT, CIBTAC, CIDESCO, CITY & GUILDS, NVQs, SQAs etc. Internally awarded qualifications from individual schools and other training establishments can also be accepted, if the training syllabus has been validated by IPTI as being practitioner standard.
MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL DATE
Membership (and insurance cover) with IPTI is renewable annually on 1st March each year for all members. Therapist joining part way through the membership year will pay reduced fees, fees are reduced on a quarterly basis. The reduced rates can be viewed on the application form page of this website.
INSURANCE POLICY FOR IPTI MEMBERS
All IPTI members resident in the UK - including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands and the Orkney Islands, are able to apply for Malpractice/Professional, Public and Products liability insurance.
The policy is underwritten by Novae Underwriting Limited underwriting for certain underwriters at Lloyd's. The policy provides indemnity against claims arising from non-medical treatments performed by IPTI members. The policy can cover for all therapies/treatments in the IPTI approved list.
Cover can be taken out at either £2 million indemnity or £5 million indemnity, the policy covers all therapies/treatments in list 1, 2 & 3 of the approved list for the payment of a single premium.
